James E. Wood, 73, of Roachdale died at St Vincent¡¯s Hospital on Jan. 21, 2010. He was born July 16, 1936 in Putnam County to Walter E. and Dorothy Beason Wood. He married JoAnne Wilson Wood on Nov. 4, 1955.
Jim was a former 4-H leader and long time Cheviot Sheep exhibitor, which he enjoyed doing many years with his sons. He was a past President of American Cheviot Society. He worked as a finish Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne and two sons, Gary and wife Marcy of Darlington, Terry of Roachdale, Granddaughters Heather Hayes of Ladoga, Megan Wood of Crawfordsville and Danielle Wood of Detroit, Great Granddaughter Aubrey Hayes of Ladoga.
Funeral Services for Jim will be at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home at 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale on Monday January 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Burial will be at New Maysville Cemetery. Rev. Mike Fitzsimmons and Rev. Kent Fitzsimmons will officiate.
