Albert Franklin Coffman
September 18, 1940 - February 25, 2010
Albert Franklin Coffman, 69, of Roachdale, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. Vincent¡¯s Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. He was born September 18, 1940 in Greencastle, IN, the son of Kenneth and Gladys Walls Coffman.

He married Joyce Ann Romalia at St. Paul¡¯s Catholic Church on June 24, 1966 and she survives.

Mr. Coffman, a third generation farmer, devoted his entire life to agriculture. He enjoyed all aspects of farming and took great pride in raising livestock and grain with the help of his son. Albert was an avid hunter and auto-racing fan. In his later years, his hobby was raising draft horses and attending horse pulls. He was proud to have raised a champion Belgian draft horse that continues to win awards. He had a deep respect for the Amish community, which resulted in many fond friendships in southern Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, a son Jeff Coffman of Roachdale, three daughters, Cathy Deaton of Greencastle, Karen Coffman of Frederick, MD, Melissa Coffman of Plainfield and three grandsons, Parker Coffman, Zachrey Coffman, Ryan Deaton, a sister Alice Stockdale of Hillsboro, and many nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Robbins. Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 pm at Roachdale Cemetery with arrangements by Servies and Morgan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Albert Franklin Coffman to the American Diabetes Association or their favorite charity.
