Louise Walsh Smullen

Louise Walsh Smullen, 94, died on April 4, 2010. She was born in Fincastle, Indiana on July 11, 1915 to Glenn Bridges and Ann Otterman Walsh.
She graduated from Ladoga High School and I.U. School of Nursing. In 1939 she married Dr. W.C. Smullen. She and her husband lived in Decatur, Illinois for 50 years where he was a radiologist at St. Mary¡¯s Hospital. They received the Illinois Humanitarian Award in 1985.
Louise started the St Mary¡¯s Aux. and worked on the Bloodmobile with the Red Cross. She worked as a private duty Nurse. She was a caregiver for her husband for many years as he suffered from A.L.S. She was a former member of the Decatur Country Club and the Decatur Club.
She leaves behind her loving family: Ann and Rob O¡¯Dell; Kelly O¡¯Dell and Tim Stanley, Katie, Anna and Bobby; Kerry O¡¯Dell and Doug Dunham, Reilly and Luke.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, John Michael Smullen.
Cremation was chosen. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
