John Edward Crosby
John Edward Crosby, 81, of Roachdale died at his residence on Tuesday. He was born on Sept 15, 1928 at Roachdale to Robert Stanley and Jean Heighway Crosby.
He was a 50 ear member or the Roachdale Masonic Lodge, a member and Deacon and Elder of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church. He served on the first School Board of North Putnam Schools. He farmed in the Roachdale area all his life.
He married Lola Elizabeth Pickel on August 15, 1953 at Roachdale. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters Kathy (Dave) Bibby of Terre Haute, Carolyn (Tony) Hughes of Roachdale, Barb (Richard) Robbins of Roachdale, Jan ( Randy) White of Bainbridge, one son Jim (Brenda) Crosby of Roachdale, 18 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, one brother Richard (Liz) Crosby of Roachdale, and several Nieces & Nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents and one grandson Michael Travis Robbins.
Services are planned for Friday July 2, 2010 at 12:00 (Noon) at the Roachdale Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 to Noon. Rev. Alan Small will officiate. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
